Olga’s Promise
This short documentary showcases the achievements of Olga Murray and The Nepal Youth Foundation (NYF). Since Olga Founded NYF in 1990, they have rescued tens of thousands of children from disease, malnutrition, homelessness, illiteracy, and severe oppression. But perhaps the most dramatic example of NYF's success is the Indentured Daughters Program. This program was created to stop the practice of "Kamlari" – the selling of young girls into bonded servitude. In just 10 years, NYF has rescued over 11,000 Kamlari girls from slavery.

Olga's Promise will be premiering at fund-raising events throughout the Bay Area, and will be shown by the Olga's Promise charity organization in Hong Kong. In the next few months, invitations to view this film will go out to over 10,000 donors around the world.

Our passion for this project has inspired a return trip to Nepal in 2012, to begin photography on a series of 4 half-hour programs we now have in development.


		Breaking the Mold The personal stories of Ramchandra, Benju and Sita, three exceptional individuals who have escaped poverty and severe oppression. They now represent a generation of young Nepalis who are fighting for social change.


Childhood Lost This film tells the personal story of Urmila Chaudhary – her 12 years in slavery, her eventual rescue, her current achievements and goals for social freedom and economic independence for women.


		Against all Odds The story of the Freed Kamlari Development Forum (FKDF). Former Kamlari share their personal experiences, and show us their new NGO is helping former slave girls to complete their education and live on their own.


Unspeakable Centering on the work of Arzu Deubah, this film examines the severity of the medical and cultural issues women in rural Nepal face every day.
